Initial situation
Separator systems in Germany must be checked regularly for leaks. If a leak is detected in the concrete tank, operators are faced with two options: complete new construction with extensive earthworks or renovation of the existing system. As new constructions are associated with high costs and long amortization periods, many operators prefer to renovate the system in order to be operational again as quickly as possible.
The challenge
Refurbishment requires a coating system that is easy to apply, offers high resistance to light liquids and greases, requires no additional primer and minimizes system downtimes.
The Bergolin solution
Remondis has relied on Bergolin coatings for years. Solvent-free epoxy systems are used, which can be applied directly to concrete or steel. With high resistance to aggressive media, very good adhesion and easy application, they meet all the requirements for long-lasting and economical refurbishment.
One product, just two work steps
- Apply coating - easy application directly to concrete or steel.
- Incorporate fleece inlay - bridges cracks in the concrete and replaces additional filling work.
Result
The refurbished separators have surfaces that are in no way inferior to a new build. Thanks to the Bergolin solution, Remondis was able to significantly reduce downtimes, increase operational safety and put systems back into operation more quickly - efficiently, economically and sustainably.
