Components made of glass or carbon fiber-reinforced plastics are now used in a large number of high-quality products in the mobility sector. In addition to particularly high strength and significant weight savings, the design effect of CFRP products is often also important. All fiber-reinforced plastics are highly resistant to environmental influences.
The construction of boats, whether lifeboats, yachts, special ships or even just parts for them, is one of the most important and oldest areas of application for fiber-reinforced plastics. Sun and salt water place particular stress on the material and place high demands on the gelcoats used.
Composite components made from composite fibers have become indispensable for cars, trucks, buses, excavators, tractors and other commercial vehicles. Parts for trunk lids, roof and hoods or door elements for cars, front aprons, roof and side elements for motorhomes are produced.

Bergolin offers solvent- and styrene-free gelcoats for the construction of GRP parts in boatbuilding and for the manufacture of buoys. The 2-component gelcoats are highly resistant to erosion and weathering. They withstand sun and salt water, are quickly ready for further processing due to their short drying time and can be sanded and polished very well. If desired, a high gloss level can also be achieved.
Bergolin offers a range of 2K PU gelcoats for epoxy, polyester and vinyl ester resins for the production of high-quality CFRP components where strength, protection and design play an important role. Depending on the application, unique depth effects, a special grip or a "soft-touch" surface with different gloss levels can be achieved. The gelcoats, which can also be used as topcoats, also have a high protective function and very good adhesive strength without the use of adhesion promoters and are particularly lightfast.
Thanks to their outstanding mechanical properties and low weight, components made from fiber-reinforced plastics make an important contribution to increasing efficiency and reducing emissions. After all, the lighter the vehicles, the less energy is consumed in the form of electricity or fuel.
